Networking that works where the infrastructure doesn’t.
Loriflex develops software and protocols for networking and device management in environments that break the usual assumptions — no cloud, no central authority, no reliable link, and very little hardware to work with.
Technology
A network stack for constrained hardware
Most networking software assumes an operating system, an IP network, and memory to spare. Loriflex develops a native implementation of an established open protocol for decentralized networking — compiled to run directly on microcontroller-class hardware, with no interpreter and no runtime beneath it, so the same identity, encryption, and routing that runs on a server also runs on a device with kilobytes of memory.
Devices carry cryptographic identity instead of assigned addresses, find routes across mixed physical links without configuration, and encrypt end to end by default — over Ethernet and WiFi where they exist, and over serial, radio, and long-range low-bandwidth links where they don’t.
Device management without the cloud
Provisioning, configuration, and updates across a device fleet normally mean a cloud broker: register with a server, hold a connection open, push state down. That model fails when there is no infrastructure to register with, when the link is measured in bits per second, or when a third party in the path isn’t acceptable.
Loriflex is building a management and configuration layer that runs on the network itself — device identity, desired-state configuration, staged updates, and fleet visibility carried over the same links the devices already use, with nothing central required.
AI where it earns its place
AI is applied to the parts of this work that are high-volume and low-signal: checking implementation behaviour against specification, surfacing configuration drift across a fleet, and reducing device telemetry to the few things that need attention. Used where it measurably cuts effort or failure, and not where a deterministic rule already does the job.
